Project Engineer
Company Description:
Escher Incorporated is a Roswell, Georgia based mechanical contractor established in 1990. E. Escher is a commercial and industrial contractor specializing in piping, plumbing, and HVAC for projects in Metro Atlanta area and throughout the state of Georgia.
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to a Sr. Project Manager to assist with daily office and field activities, estimates, written proposals, subcontractor and vendor purchase ordering, job scheduling, and project close-out documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Project Manager
- Developing and maintaining project budget, project cost, and accounting records
- Performs change orders and assists the Project Manager in change order paper work
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals
- Assist in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors’ construction schedules
- Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
- Keep track of Certificates of Compliance, Warranties and Guarantees
- Provide input and review project scopes and subcontracts.
- Assist in Quality Control, i.e.; job inspections, punch lists, etc.
- Contribute and assist in maintaining project documentation (Ex: RFI’s, Buyout Logs, Submittals, Receivables, Schedules)
- Assist Project Manager in managing and updating Project Budgets, Work Authorizations and Payment Applications.
- Assist in preparing and updating project schedules.
- Assist Project Executive in entitlements, pre-construction and estimating duties. (in main office as needed)
- Assist with various other construction tasks, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline required
- 2 years of project experience is preferred
- Effective communication skills (Verbal/Written)
- Strong organizational/ time management skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
- Exposure to ITB software
- Ability to work as team player
- Detail oriented
- Self-motivated and willing to accept responsibility of assigned work.
- Knowledge of CAD software
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner

Mechanical Estimator (Commercial Plumbing and HVAC)

We self –perform installation of piping, chillers, AHU, cooling towers, pumps, etc., and subcontract sheet metal, insulation and control work. Pipe includes copper, PVC, carbon steel, various acid resistant plastics, cast iron and ductile iron. Joints include threaded, welded, mechanical. Mostly comprised of mechanical and plumbing work, projects are commercial, institutional and industrial and range from $50k to $7M.
Job Description:
Escher Incorporated, a Metro Atlanta Mechanical Contracting company is seeking a senior level estimator with at least 5+ years’ experience in the mechanical contracting business. Projects include commercial, institutional and industrial. This leadership role is responsible for revenue generation, cost control, team leadership, client relations, and technical management of various size projects. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Most of our projects are located throughout the Atlanta Metro Area.
Required skills:
- Superior Bid Proposal and Preparation
- Thorough knowledge of piping, plumbing and mechanical system operations
- Estimating, budget, cost control, scheduling and management of multiple bids
- Solid understanding of wide variety of HVAC Equipment and Materials
- Existing vendor and subcontractor Relationships
- In-depth knowledge of system installations
- Self-starter with strong work ethic
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills

Commercial Plumber

Job Summary:
We are looking for experienced Commercial Plumbers and Commercial Journeyman Plumbers who are honest, trustworthy, and self-motivated and consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic. Must provide own reliable transportation. Majority of our jobs are within City of Atlanta or surrounding area. Work hours normally 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Overtime, evening, night, and weekend work as project requires. Employee needs to work at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project Supervisor. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled Foreman and/or Superintendent.
Primary Responsibilities in General:
Install and repair pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution of plumbing systems in commercial structures. Work involves performing skilled plumbing tasks with a variety of fixtures and equipment. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years commercial journeyman plumbing experience
- 5-10 preferred if applying for Master Plumber (with license)
- Energetic personality, well organized and ability to work independently
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in reading blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes
- Considerable knowledge of standard tools, systems, methods and materials (copper, Cast, pvc, PEX, etc.)
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must adhere to all safety guidelines and strong knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- High School Diploma required. Trade School education desirable.
- Must provide own hand tools appropriate to trade that are in good condition and meet safety requirements
- Must provide own reliable transportation to work
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work on all phases of commercial plumbing from underground to trim-out
- Take offs, layout, installation and testing of completed work
- Follow supervisor instructions, install work to spec and train helpers appropriately.
- Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
- Required to produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
- Ensure all required and/or proper materials, tools, equipment and information is at jobsite.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
- Show up early every day ready to start on time, work a full shift as a best in class dependable employee
Physical Requirements:
- Workday requires physical work indoors or outdoors in varying conditions/temperatures
- Strong finger and manual dexterity for handling pipes and plumbing fixtures.
- Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; proper shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
- Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
- Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Will need to stoop, kneel, or bend, on a regular basis
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
